Rumi's Caravan Returns to Oakland to inspire through the beauty of spoken word, presenters create an improvised poetic conversation by weaving together poem by Rumi, Hafez, Machado, Rilke, Yeats, and others from cultural and spiritual traditions across the world, with musical accompaniment, featuring a Sufi dancer, Chelsea Rose, recitations by Doug Von Koss, Larry Robinson, Barry Spector, Maya Spector, Kay Christa, Carol Fitzgerald, Carol Bowers Foote, with musical performances by Christine Tulis, and Suellen Prismost, Oakland Unitarian Church, 685 14th Street, Oakland, $15 online, $30 door, a benefit for the Middle East Children Alliance, 7:00 (www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3371248?cookie_header=1)
