Southern California Poetry Festival: Tongo Eisen-Martin, Camae Ayewa, more

Southern California Poetry Festival opening night begins with a performance by poet, lyricist, and musician Camae Ayewa, known for her exceptional work as Moor Mother, reading from her groundbreaking poetry collection American Equations in Black Classical Music, followed by alchemic verses from Tongo Eisen-Martin, Heaven Is All Goodbyes, San Francisco's Eighth Poet Laureate, and abbi page, Linda Albertano Fellow; after the readings, Rhys Langston, one of L.A's most eccentric voices in Alternative Hip-Hop, will perform a set in the Poets' Garden, Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center, 681 Venice Blvd., Venice Beach, Los Angeles, $11, free for Beyond Baroque members, 7:00 pm- 10:00 pm PST (For more information, visit: www.eventbrite.com/e/southern-california-poetry-festival-2024-friday-nov-15-tickets-1047730950477?aff=ebdsoporgprofile)
