The Southern California Poetry Festival continues with workshops led by poets Douglas Manuel and Sarah Maclay, and "Indigenous Poets Across the Americas," a reading featuring Tommy Pico, Kinsale Drake, Jessa Calderon, and Moncho Ollin Alvarado, a showcase of independent presses, featuring "The Offing" with Michael Reyes, Jose Hernandez Diaz, and Gabrielle Civil; What Books Press with Mariano Zaro, Elena Karina Byrne, and Carolie Parker; and LA Review of Books with Elizabeth Metzger, Allison Hedge Coke, and Anna Journey; a reading to celebrate the release of Best American Poetry 2022, featuring Prageeta Sharma, Alexis Sears, Amy Gerstler, and Matthew Zapruder, and lastly a reading featuring Poet Laureate of Los Angeles Lynne Thompson and Poet Laureate of San Francisco Tongo Eisen-Martin, joined by poets Shonda Buchanan, bridgette bianca, and Conney Williams, co-presented by Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center and the Poetry Foundation, Beyond Baroque, 681 Venice Blvd., Venice Beach, Los Angeles, free, 10:00 am-8:00 pm PST (RSVP to attend: www.beyondbaroque.org/calendar.html)
