Dominican University's MFA in Creative Writing Program presents "Writing for Health and Healing," beginning with the presentation "Apocalypse chocolate and crossing the river: A meditation on infection, community, and grief in a changing world," by Lise Saffron, health humanities scholar and creative writer, author of the novel Juno's Daughters, followed by a panel featuring novelist and medical anthropologist Claudia Morales, No Habrá Retorno, poet Susana Praver-Pérez, Hurricanes, Love Affairs, and Other Disasters, and poet Eliot Schain, The Distant Sound, discussing writing as a healing process, and concluding with a reading featuring all four writers, online via Zoom, free, 3:00-8:00 pm PDT (Register to attend: www.eventbrite.com/e/writing-for-health-and-healing-tickets-338472519417)
