Dominican University's MFA in Creative Writing Program presents "Writing and Drawing Gender," a lecture with Maia Kobabe, a nonbinary, queer author and illustrator, author of Gender Queer: A Memoir, winner of an Alex Award and a Stonewall Honor from the American Library Association in 2020, and listed as one of the most banned or challenged books in 2021 by The American Library Association's Office of Intellectual Freedom, the talk will explore their graphic novel, the process of writing, pitching, and marketing it, and the effects of the book in the past three years, online via Zoom, free, 7:00-8:00 pm PDT (Register to attend: www.eventbrite.com/e/maia-kobabe-creative-writing-event-tickets-333084874827)
