Virtual Beast, the virtual version of the Beast Crawl Literary Festival, kicks off with Missy Church, Paul Corman-Roberts, and Youssef Alaoui, with singer Madame Chiang performing excerpts from her musical show, "Bolerísimas," inspired by Latin Bolero women composers, and poetry by Eevelyn Mitchell, Poet Laureate of El Cerrito, Greer Nakadegawa-Lee, Oakland Youth Poet Laureate, Kim Shuck, San Francisco Poet Laureate Emeritus, and Kimi Sugioka, Alameda Poet Laureate, followed by the Reginald Lockett Memorial Open Mic, on Zoom and also streamed on Facebook Live, free, 5:30 pm PDT (RSVP to attend, see website for Zoom links: sites.google.com/view/beastcrawl2021/day-1, www.facebook.com/events/707846527280097; https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81339960799)
