San Francisco Public Library presents a poetry reading celebrating the life and work of Janice Mirikitani (1941-2021), passionate and revolutionary activist and poet, who served as Poet Laureate of San Francisco from 2000 to 2002, featuring readings from current San Francisco Poet Laureate Tongo Eisen-Martin, and previous San Francisco Poet Laureates Kim Shuck, Alejandro Murguía, Jack Hirschman, and devorah major, as well as numerous poets including Aileen Cassinetto, Genny Lim, Michael Warr, Maw Shein Win, Nelly Wong, and more, come join to honor the life of Janice Mirikitani through poetry, free, online, 2:00-3:00 pm PDT (More info here: sfpl.org/events/2021/08/14/celebration-poets-honor-janice-mirikitani)
