The Sierra Poetry Festival celebrates fifty years of poetry writing with the Community of Writers and launches its new anthology, Why to These Rocks: 50 Years of Poetry with the Community of Writers, featuring readings from staff poets Patricia Spears Jones, Sharon Olds, and Matthew Zapruder, as well as alumni poets Francisco Márquez, Chris Davidson, Christina Hutchins, and Maw Shein Win, introduced by editor Lisa Alvarez, followed by a short open mic, free, online via Zoom and Facebook Live, 11:50 am PDT (Register to attend: www.sierrapoetryfestival.org)
