A celebration of the life of Richard O. Moore (1920-2015), a central figure in the "San Francisco Renaissance" of poetry and art in the 1950s and beyond, one of the founders of KPFA radio in Berkeley in 1949, the first public radio station in America; includes a screening of short classic segments of his film series, USA: Poetry, Brenda Hillman, Garrett Caples, and Paul Ebencamp read from his last collections of poetry, Writing the Silences and Particulars of Place, Richard's daughter Flinn Moore Rauck, will read, hosted by David Reid, refreshments, Mythos Fine Art & Artifacts at Firehouse North, 1790 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley, donations, 6:30 (www.mythosfirehouse.com)
